The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman), one of the centers of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, is organizing an interactive awareness forum entitled: “Child Protection Mechanisms under the slogan “Your children are a trust" on Monday, corresponding to October 11, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the main hall of the Family Counseling Center (Wefaq).

The Center is keen to organize this annual event within the awareness projects for the child. Whereas, the Childhood Without Violence Project includes several awareness and educational activities and events for the targeted groups of women and children who are victims of violence and family breakdown. In addition to educating different segments of the public, in particular parents.

This interactive awareness forum aims to achieve the vision and mission of the Aman Center in spreading awareness and educating its target groups to enhance social protection and social rehabilitation. In addition to educating parents about the basic responsibilities towards their children to reduce the problems that result from neglect and violence of all kinds, and to clarify the appropriate ways and methods in protecting children from any violence they may be exposed to, as well as urged them to use these methods. Whereas, the correct upbringing of the child affects the entity of the society, as the child is one of the pillars of society, and its main pillar that will be reflected through his proper upbringing. A strong, interconnected family builds a strong and cohesive society.

Whereas, a number of experts in the field of family education will participate in presenting the interactive forum, including Mr. Khaled Al Nama - Director of the Family Policies Department at the Doha International Family Institute, and Mr. Mohamed Al Haider - Human Prosperity Consultant and Certified Trainer, in addition to the participation of His Eminence Sheikh / Thabet Al Qahtani – Islamic Imam and Preacher at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

In this context, Dr. Zainab Al Mahmoud - Community Awareness Department at Aman Center expressed the keenness to continue implementing awareness and interactive forums and meetings for parents in order to shed light on the most important child protection mechanisms, and urged them to follow modern methods of education. Whereas, social protection is a basic pillar of Aman Center's strategies, which are achieved by providing protection and social rehabilitation to reduce violence and family breakdown. It also clarified the main themes that will be discussed in the interactive awareness forum, including: The role of education in building a child's personality, and the role of electronic media and its impact on the child, in addition to the axis related to the right and duty in Islamic law towards the child and society.

It is worth mentioning that the Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center (Aman) organized in 2019 a forum on child protection mechanisms in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and in partnership with the National Human Rights Committee, the Behavioral Health Support Center, the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, the Dreama Center for Orphan Care, Wefaq Center for Family Counseling, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. With the participation of more than 300 social and psychological workers from various primary schools, kindergartens, nurseries, and child-related centers in the country, with the aim of presenting the most important child protection mechanisms and providing specialists with awareness-raising skills for children to protect themselves from any abuse they may be exposed to.​
